Flat Stanley recently arrived in our mailbox. We had planned two fun outings with Stanley but both days ended up stormy so we had to cancel or at least postpone our plans. That’s ok though, because Stanley had a great time at Cub Scout Day Camp with Mason and Patrol 4. Here is Stanley checking out our butterfly houses we made for the state park.
Here is Stanley during the Dutch oven pizza making class. mmm… It was good!
Here is Stanley with our Patrol banner. Our theme for Day Camp was 100 years of Scouting. The Patrols had a famous person who was an Eagle Scout as their unit theme. Ours was Mike Rowe from the show Dirty Jobs.
The week was consistently in the high 90’s and very humid. The heat index hovered around 105 every day. Within the first hour Stanley was looking like the rest of us – muggy and moist. So he had an upgrade. He got a spiffy lamination job. We all thought Flat Stanley needed to fit in a little better so we also made him a Cub Scout Day Camp shirt and matching cap (removable of course).
Stanley fit right in with the Scouts in his new attire, and was perhaps a little too involved.
We saved him from the BB gun shooting, but then he ended up at the archery site. He was in the middle of everything. ☺
Flat Stanley will be headed to a new family on Monday. It’s been fun!
